The annual Consumer Electronics Show kicks off this week in Las Vegas. This is the gadget wonderland I've attended for the last several years. Due to my father's illness, I decided to skip this year's show. But I'm avidly watching online for announcements of the year's best new innovations. The show is put on by the Consumer Electronics Association and they've recently launched "The Innovation Movement" which seeks to encourage public policies that foster innovation and promote prosperity. H1B Transfer is not equal to H1B Renewal.
H1B transfer: when you change your job, you transfer your H1B visa to the new employer.
H1B Renewal: when you stay in the same company for 3 years, you need to file h1B renewal for the 2nd duration of 3 years.

Need suggestion and advise. I recently moved to LA as i found a new job. I do have permanent home in chicago and i m planning to rent a place in LA. Do i need to call USCIS and update my address for I485 application? Is it ok to have my permanent address in chicago continue in I485 application? Please advise.

I am stuck out side of US for my name check for last 9 months when I applied for H-1. I have approved I 140. is there any way I can file my I 1485 and Advance parole or any thing to get back into US.
Some one has told me that I can use consular processing but have no idea about that.
Please help me and let me know what are possible options for me to return to US.

Hi,
I have filed my H1 (premium processing)on 26th Sep and till now I didn't receive my H1 receipt.
What could be the reasons and how i Can track about my case.
Can I track my case? is there some number where i can call discuss about my case why I didn't receive my receipt
My Lawyer called the USCIS and they are saying that they are not able to generate the receipt number?
Is somebody else faced the same issue? what could be done now?

U.S. Customs and Border Protection has announced new fees for persons seeking authorization to travel to the United States under the Visa Waiver Program. The authorization is obtained prior to travel through the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA), and typically remains valid for two years. Beginning on September 8, 2010, the ESTA travel authorization will require a valid credit card for payment of a $14.00 fee. The purpose of the fee is to finance efforts to promote international travel to the United States, and cover operational costs associated with running the ESTA program. Individuals who already possess ESTA authorization do not need to pay the fee until it is time for them to reapply.
